However, the BSI product standard that certified plug-in kits must meet has not yet been published. Until it is, the compliant route is to have a CPS-registered electrician make the final connection. Once the standard is in place, expected later in summer 2026, fully DIY plug-into-the-socket installation becomes compliant. Either way, you also need to submit a G98 notification to your Distribution Network Operator before connecting, which is a short online form rather than an approval process.
